Tourism performance indicators for April 2018 are now available on tourismns.ca. Please visit Research > Visitor Statistics > Tourism Performance for full statistics.
New this month, Tourism Nova Scotia has redesigned our Tourism Results graphs on the tourismns.ca homepage. No longer circular, the new bar graphs make the year-to-date data we share easier to read.
We are now including a research measure that estimates the number of room nights sold through a sharing economy platform. This measure includes both licensed and unlicensed room nights sold. Please note that because the sharing economy measure includes both licensed and unlicensed accommodations, adding it together with licensed room nights sold would result in double counting.
We are including this measure to provide insight into consumer use of sharing economy platforms in Nova Scotia. The data, sourced through AirDNA, is the best commercial source of short term rental data available to us.
This new measure will be included in our tourism indicator reporting every month going forward.
