June Tourism Performance Statistics Now Available

Friday, August 23, 2019

Nova Scotia welcomed 228,000 non-resident overnight visitors in June 2019, an increase of 0.5%, or 1,100 visitors, compared with June 2018. Visitation by air increased by 6%, while visitation by road decreased by 2%.

Between January and June 2019, Nova Scotia welcomed 849,000 non-resident overnight visitors, down 2% compared to the same period in 2018. The dip in visitation is due to softer visitation in April and May. Nova Scotia’s peak tourism season is June to October, and we look forward to sharing peak season numbers when they are available.

Across the province, 285,000 licensed room nights were sold in June, a decrease of 3% compared to June 2018. Year-to-date June, licensed room nights sold in Nova Scotia of 1,095,000 are down 2% compared with the same period in 2018.
