Nova Scotia Maintains Strong Overnight Visitation in June

June 2018 visitation was consistent with last June, holding strong at approximately 227,000 non-resident visitors.

Visitation by air was up 5% compared to June 2017, for a total of 78,000 visitors. Growth in air visitation is particularly positive, as air travellers tend to spend more while visiting, adding to tourism revenue. 

Year-to-date June 2018, Nova Scotia welcomed a total of 869,000 non-resident overnight visitors, an increase of 2% compared with 2017.

Licensed room nights sold increased by 4%, with Halifax (+9%) and South Shore (+6%) showing the strongest growth. The average room rate was $161 in June, up 9% compared to June 2017.
