Visitation to Nova Scotia increased by 9% in 2017, and marked the fourth consecutive year of visitation growth to Nova Scotia.
Overall Nova Scotia welcomed more than 2.4 million non-resident overnight visitors to the province in 2017. Visitation by road increased by 7%, while visitation by air increased by 13%.
In 2017, room nights sold - 2.8 million - increased by 2% compared with 2016. The Halifax region saw a decline in growth of 1%, while room nights sold in regions outside of Halifax increased by 6%. The provincial occupancy rate increased by 3 percentage points to 55%.
