Enhance your appeal to travellers who prioritize green travel choices!
The CHARGED Program, operated by Pollution Probe with funding on behalf of Natural Resources Canada’s Zero-Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program (ZEVIP), offers an opportunity for support for tourism businesses, organizations and communities to install EV charging stations.
This initiative provides rebates of up to 50% on the purchase and installation of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, with a maximum funding of $100,000 per project site. Eligible project sites are EV charging infrastructure projects in public places, on-street, in multi-unit residential buildings, at workplaces, or for light-duty vehicle fleets. For Indigenous communities, the funding can cover up to 100% of project costs. The program is part of Canada's broader goal to have Zero Emission Vehicles (ZEVs) comprise 50% of new passenger vehicle sales by 2030 and 100% by 2035.
By participating in the CHARGED Program, your business can cater to the growing number of EV drivers seeking convenient charging options. Installing EV chargers at your location supports environmental sustainability and positions your business as a forward-thinking, eco-friendly destination. Additionally, being part of a national network of charging stations can increase visibility and attract more visitors!
Applications for the current fiscal year are now open for projects in Nova Scotia, with a deadline of March 31, 2026.
Funding is awarded to eligible applicants on a first-come, first-served basis, so apply as soon as possible.
