Adapting to Climate Change

Nova Scotia’s tourism industry is facing growing challenges from climate change, as rising sea levels and more frequent storms and threat of wildfires impact coastal properties and travel activities. In fact, in a survey of past visitors to Nova Scotia, 17% indicated their travel plans were impacted by climate-related emergencies, such as storms. Visitors are also increasingly conscious of the importance of sustainability and environmental responsibility when making travel decisions, with 66% of those surveyed saying they consider sustainability when they make a booking or purchase.
