Today, more than 40 community-run visitor information centres (VICs) welcome travellers across Nova Scotia. While trip-planning support remains available through NovaScotia.com, the provincial Contact Centre, and the Amherst VIC, Tourism Nova Scotia is also investing nearly $400,000 to support community VIC operations throughout the province.
These visitor services play an important role in connecting travellers with local businesses and experiences. Community VICs also provide opportunities for tourism operators and organizations to share brochures, guides and visitor information directly with travellers as they plan their stay. Businesses are encouraged to connect with VICs in their region to share updated materials, experiences, and seasonal information. Tourism Nova Scotia maintains a current listing of community VIC locations, contact information and seasonal operating hours.
