Supported by Tourism Nova Scotia, this two-hour workshop will take place on Thursday, October 22nd.

Creating Meaningful Access. Building Inclusive Experiences
An interactive, facilitated workshop from the Rick Hansen Foundation will be customized, with case studies to generate discussion and apply learning on understanding disability, creating meaningful access, and creating human-centric experiences. The workshop will also help organizations recognize and remove barriers to participation, strengthen inclusive practices and build greater confidence when serving and communicating with visitors, and working alongside people with disabilities. Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion.

Mike Shoreman is an accessibility and disability educator, professional speaker, author and advocate who works with organizations to move accessibility from awareness into everyday practice. Drawing on professional expertise and lived experience of disability, Mike facilitates practical conversations about barriers, inclusive communication, universal design and the customer, guest, fan, client and employee experience. His work has reached organizations and audiences across Canada, and his advocacy and story have been featured nationally and internationally.
