Spring program intake will be here before we know it.
Tourism Nova Scotia (TNS) offers a range of programs to support eligible tourism businesses with marketing, experience development, research and digital adoption. Most programs open for applications in the spring — and now is the perfect time to prepare.
There are some steps you need to take before you can be eligible for many of our programs. Here’s a checklist so you can be prepared for when program applications open.

1. Create (or Update) Your NovaScotia.com Listing
A current NovaScotia.com business listing is required for many TNS programs, including the Tourism Digital Assistance Program (TDAP).
NovaScotia.com is the province’s official tourism website, welcoming more than 10 million visits annually. A listing connects you with potential visitors and serves as the on-ramp to working with TNS to promote your business, experience or event — at no cost.
Before applying to any program, review the NovaScotia.com Eligibility and Listing Requirements to confirm your business qualifies.
2. Ensure Your Business Is Properly Registered
Make sure your business is registered with the Registry of Joint Stock Companies (if required), and your accommodation is compliant with the Short-term Rentals Registry (if applicable).
If a program interests you, connect with the program manager in advance so you can understand the program requirements and prepare a strong application.
3. Get to Know TNS Programs
TNS programs support tourism businesses in several ways, including:
- Marketing partnerships
- Experience development
- Digital adoption
- Research and insights
Visit the TNS Programs page to explore available supports and eligibility criteria. If a program interests you, connect with the program manager in advance — they can help you determine fit and answer questions before intake opens.
4. Subscribe to Our Industry Newsletter
Stay informed about application dates, program updates and important reminders by subscribing to the TNS industry newsletter. This ensures you don’t miss key deadlines or new opportunities.
Prepare Now, Apply with Confidence
Taking these four steps now will help ensure you’re ready to apply for programs when they open. By ensuring your NovaScotia.com listing is active, registrations are current and you understand program requirements, you’ll be ready to submit a complete application.
We look forward to working with you to grow year-round tourism across Nova Scotia.
