After a strong start to the year, visitation softened in June. According to statistics gathered by Tourism Nova Scotia, Nova Scotia welcomed 212,000 visitors in the month of June 2023, a 1% decline (1,000 fewer visitors) compared with June 2022, and a 7% decline (17,000 fewer visitors) compared with June 2019.
Softer visitation in June is largely a result of fewer visitors from Atlantic Canada, the largest source of visitors to Nova Scotia. On the other hand, visitation from other parts of Canada and overseas continued to grow even beyond 2019 levels.
