In the recently published Travel + Leisure "World’s Best Awards" for 2025, Halifax was named one of the Top 5 Cities in Canada, while Cape Breton Island earned distinction as one of the Top 3 Islands in Canada and was also included in the list of the Top 20 Islands in the World.

These accolades reflect the views and experiences of Travel + Leisure readers, who vote annually in the magazine’s prestigious "World’s Best Awards" survey. This year, nearly 180,000 readers participated, casting over 657,000 votes across more than 8,700 properties, cities, islands, and travel experiences worldwide.
