Grace Kennedy, a registered nurse from Inverness, is the winner of the Ultimate Nova Scotia Road Trip contest. Grace was selected as the contest winner through a random draw.
“This is a Nova Scotian dream come true! It has been so much fun rediscovering Nova Scotia this year; I can’t wait to see more,” Grace says.
The Ultimate Nova Scotia Road Trip contest ran from August 24 to October 12. The contest encouraged Nova Scotians and Atlantic Canadians to explore the province and support local businesses by inviting them to post photos of themselves enjoying as many activities as possible from a list of 25 quintessential Nova Scotia activities - from whale watching to indulging in a late-night donair. Participants received one contest entry for each selfie posted on Facebook or Instagram with the hashtags #NSRoadTrip and #NovaScotiaNice. The prize is a personalized trip valued up to $5,000, including six nights/seven days anywhere in the province (as listed on NovaScotia.com).
The contest created a buzz about road trips in Nova Scotia. Over 3,200 photos were posted with the hashtag #NSRoadTrip throughout the duration of the contest.
Even though she has already been having a great time exploring, Grace still has a lot she is excited to do in Nova Scotia, and this prize will help her check some things off her list.
“My dream trip around Nova Scotia would be a getaway to the South Shore, Yarmouth & Acadian Shores, and the Bay of Fundy & Annapolis Valley,” she says. “I would love to experience the seaside towns, wineries, and the tides of the Bay of Fundy that all make Nova Scotia such a special place. Some of the ways I would do this is kayaking, tidal bore rafting, and taking advantage of the many great tours that are offered in each place.”
Some of the unique Nova Scotia experiences Grace says she wants to check out are the Annapolis Valley hot air balloon rides and stargazing at Trout Point Lodge.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the contest, and congratulations to Grace!
We hope you will keep rediscovering Nova Scotia this fall and winter. There are more than 170 packages listed on NovaScotia.com to help you get started!
