Rendez-vous Canada Cancelled for 2020 – See Destination Canada’s Next Steps to Support Tourism Operators

Destination Canada and the Tourism Industry Association of Canada have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Rendez-vous Canada (RVC), which was scheduled to take place in Quebec City from May 5-8, 2020. They are working on the process of refunds for those registered and will follow up with details.
 
RVC is Canada’s largest travel marketplace and a significant event for the Canadian tourism sector – generating leads and sales with key markets around the world. However, in a statement Destination Canada stressed that the health, welfare and safety of delegates is paramount. The Government of Canada announced tightened restrictions and enhanced guidelines on international travel, border control measures, mass gatherings, among other tourism-related areas.

Destination Canada is now looking at next steps to support the tourism industry. Here are a few areas under consideration:

Rendez-vous Canada will return next year from May 16-19, 2021 in Edmonton, Alberta.
