Workshop: Building Inclusive Leadership Begins With Me

Thursday, February 29, 2024

In partnership with Tourism Nova Scotia, join the Tourism Industry Association of Nova Scotia on March 19 for a half day workshop on Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Accessibility (EDIA).

During this half-day workshop, participants will reflect upon inclusive leadership capabilities and examine ways of understanding equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility (EDIA) from a personal, systems and organizational lens. This workshop can serve as a launch pad for participants to build upon a foundation from which to continue in their EDIA learning journey.

By the end of this interactive workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Examine how the dimensions of one’s identity shapes their views, values, perceptions and behaviours within organizations;
  • Reflect upon ‘individual’ inclusive leadership capabilities;
  • Reflect upon interact ions between self, systems and organizational culture;
  • List traits of inclusive leadership;
  • Review and resolve conflicts related to EDIA in the workplace;
  • Introduce practical strategies to cultivate a more inclusive organizational culture; and
  • Identify ways to transfer learning into practice.

The facilitator for this session is Crystal Taylor, President of Ebony Consulting. Crystal is a seasoned human resources practitioner, results-riven EDI strategist and coach, with a passion for helping organizations and individuals build the cultural capacity that they require to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
