October 3, 2017

Today is the first day of GoMedia Canada 2017’s marketplace, where nearly 150 travel writers and influencers from all over the world will meet with Canadian industry partners to discover what makes Canada and Nova Scotia worth exploring.

Presented by Destination Canada annually in different Canadian cities, GoMedia Canada is the country’s premier travel media event, connecting the world’s top travel media with tourism organizations and operators from across the country. In addition, the event’s host city has the advantage of promoting their region’s activities and attractions first-hand. Tourism Nova Scotia played an influential role in securing Halifax as this year’s host.

“Hosting this international tourism industry event is an honour,” said Michele Saran, CEO of Tourism Nova Scotia. “This is an incredible opportunity for Nova Scotia to share the best it has to offer with the influencers who inspire people to pack their bags and travel.”

“Nova Scotia was a natural choice for Go Media Canada 2017” said Emmanuelle Legault, Destination Canada’s vice-president of International Affairs. “It’s a great opportunity for our host, Tourism Nova Scotia, to delight and inspire media by showcasing the natural wonders, culinary delights, diverse culture and welcoming people that can be found on our East Coast.”

GoMedia Canada will highlight many of the activities and attractions that make Nova Scotia a compelling place to visit through a series of scheduled tours and during one-on-one meetings between travel media and industry operators.

“We are thrilled to participate in GoMedia Canada 2017 and to welcome travel media from all over the world,” said Susan Downey Lim, owner of Grape Escapes Nova Scotia Wine Tours, one of the event’s participating local operators. “This is a great way to showcase our culinary, wine, beer, and cider industries to the world.”

GoMedia Canada 2017 runs until Oct. 5.
