Tourism Nova Scotia is proud to announce that NovaScotia.com has been ranked as one of the best tourism websites in the world, according to Skift, a prominent media company based out of New York City, that deciphers and defines global travel trends.
Skift is the largest industry intelligence platform providing media, insights, and marketing to key sectors of travel. Greg Oates, a representative from Skift says, “The most modern tourism bureau websites today emphasize neighborhood storytelling, more nuanced content for different consumer profiles, mobile-first modular design, and full-width photos and videos with a strong human voice.”
Sharing the ranks with one other Canadian web site, Keep Exploring Canada, NovaScotia.com is in good company with websites such as Visit Finland, Ireland Tourism, Visit Scotland, and Tourism Australia for best user experience overall - especially on mobile.
According to Skift, NovaScotia.com wins on design alone. “Great professional photos and smart use of crowdsourced imagery. Map functionality allows you to search easily for specific activities like artist studio visits and upcoming farmer's markets.”
“We owe a lot of thanks to our customers who provide excellent ongoing feedback so that our website is kept relevant, user-friendly, and visitor centered, “ says Tourism Nova Scotia CEO Michele Saran. “Being ranked in the Top 25 by global travel industry experts is exciting news for Nova Scotians.”
Visits to NovaScotia.com in 2016 surpassed the two million mark by the end of June. Year to date website traffic is up 19.1 per cent over the same period in 2015, and page views are up 28 per cent year to date over 2015.
