Province Recognized As Top Travel Destination

Nova Scotia has been named one of Travel + Leisure magazine’s 50 Best Places to Travel in 2025.

“We are thrilled to be acknowledged in the prestigious list of the 50 Best Places to Travel in 2025,” said Dave Ritcey, Minister of Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage. “Nova Scotia’s unique charm and scenic coastlines draw visitors from around the world. It’s great to see our province and tourism industry receiving recognition as a world-class vacation destination.”

Nova Scotia is featured under the category For Moments on the Water. It highlights Nova Scotia’s increasingly accessible air travel, appealing accommodations and iconic coastal activities and attractions. The province is one of only two Canadian regions on the list. The Yukon appeared under the category For Nature Lovers.

- Tourism Nova Scotia works to generate editorial content highlighting Nova Scotia’s compelling tourism products and experiences to help inspire people to travel to the province
- the provincial government  invested more than $4 million in programs in 2023 to support tourism businesses and communities with marketing, digital adoption and product development
- between January and July 2024, Nova Scotia welcomed more than one million visitors; in 2023, Nova Scotia had 2.2 million visitors
- Travel + Leisure is an international travel and lifestyle magazine
