Charting the Future: 2019 Tourism Summit Offers Insights to Help You Excel in an Evolving Tourism Industry

Friday, November 8, 2019

Tourism Nova Scotia is pleased to be a presenting partner of the annual Tourism Summit, hosted  by the Tourism Industry Association of Nova Scotia (TIANS).

The theme of the Tourism Summit this year is “charting the future,” and we are excited to take part in discussions about how we can work together to drive Nova Scotia’s tourism industry forward. The conference takes place from December 1 -3 at the Westin Halifax Hotel.

Michele Saran, CEO of Tourism Nova Scotia will deliver a keynote presentation, Adapt to Win: Finding Opportunities in a Changing Tourism Industry, on Monday, December 2. Travel has changed, travellers have changed, and so must we if we want to be a top vacation destination. Changes bring new opportunities and those who adapt will have the most success. Michele will explore the opportunities for Nova Scotia’s tourism industry to attract the travellers of today and tomorrow.

Tourism Nova Scotia’s Educational Sessions:

Tourism Nova Scotia’s team will follow up on Michele’s presentation with a panel outlining how you can use our resources and programs to identify specific actions you can take to increase your profile, attract your best customers and maximize sales. You’ll hear directly from our managers about the programs and resources available to support your business growth—from research and development to marketing and travel trade. Tourism Nova Scotia team members will be available for one-on-one speed-meetings following the panel presentation to discuss your ideas. The session is called Adapt to Grow Your Business: Leverage Tourism Nova Scotia Opportunities Now, and will take place on Tuesday, December 3.

Tourism Nova Scotia and Google Canada will host a Google Help Desk from 9am – 3pm on Tuesday, December 3.  Registered Tourism Summit delegates can book a free 20-minute session with experts from Google Canada and receive advice on Google business listings, analytics, search engine marketing and site speed optimizations.

TIANS has also worked with many other partners to offer educational sessions on a broad range of topics. This year, there will also be an exciting tourism start-up pitch competition. Don’t miss this opportunity to network with others in the tourism industry and access resources that can help enhance your business.
