UK travellers will have more options for direct flights to Nova Scotia starting this summer, making it even easier for them to choose Nova Scotia as their next vacation destination.
WestJet will be offering a seasonal direct flight between Halifax and Manchester, UK from June 5 to October 24, 2020. The flight will depart four times per week. WestJet also currently offers non-stop flights to London’s Gatwick Airport and Glasgow, Scotland.
The UK is Nova Scotia’s largest overseas tourism market, and visitors from the region tend to spend more and stay longer than visitors from North America. This is a key market in Nova Scotia’s strategy to attract more higher-spending visitors. We know having convenient options to get here makes Nova Scotia more appealing as a vacation destination.
We’re thrilled to see this new flight added to WestJet’s roster, and we will continue to work with our industry partners to support direct air connections with our target markets. Last year, we partnered with WestJet on a London Taxi advertising campaign to raise awareness of Nova Scotia and direct flights from London.
