Encourage Your Customers to Review Your Business on TripAdvisor

Wednesday, July 17, 2019

Peer review sites are a top source of inspiration for today’s travellers. People want real feedback from other travellers about their experience at a business before they commit to booking. TripAdvisor has 455 million monthly visitors and is a leading travel review site.

Here’s why you should proactively encourage your customers to post reviews on your TripAdvisor page:

What if someone had a bad experience? You should still encourage them to give you a review. That way customers know that you are genuinely interested in their feedback. Also, it will give you the opportunity to respond to the review on TripAdvisor and show other potential customers that you’re listening and taking steps to address any complaints.

So, how do you encourage people to post reviews?

When your guests are checking out, ask them about their experience and let them know that you’d love for them to post a review.

TripAdvisor has a range of free tools you can use to encourage people to post reviews, like review reminder cards, stickers and magnets.  See details at https://www.tripadvisor.ca/PromoTools. You can also add a TripAdvisor widget to your business website to collect and display reviews.

Are you listed on online booking sites as well? You can also encourage your customers to leave reviews on Booking.com, Expedia, and many other sites.

Consider reviews word-of-mouth promotion for your business and get your customers talking about you online.
