Tourism Week, running from May 24-30, 2020, is an annual week-long national recognition of the contributions that Canada’s tourism sector makes to the economy and local communities across the country.
Organized by the Tourism Industry Association of Canada, Tourism Week looks different this year, with many of the celebrations moving online. For a full list of Tourism Week related activities, please visit www.tourismmatters.ca
At Tourism Nova Scotia, we’re marking Tourism Week by sharing stories about how tourism businesses are adapting in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and the creative ways they are supporting their communities. As the province begins to reopen and plan for welcoming visitors once again, we are so inspired and impressed by the innovation and resilience of Nova Scotia’s tourism industry. We’ve gathered a few examples of this great work from across the province on Industry Innovation and Inspiration page.
We will also highlight support programs and resources offered by Tourism Nova Scotia to help businesses navigate this uncertain period, such as our new webinar series—which offers practical information you can use to steer your business through COVID-19 and then rebuild and recover following the pandemic.
We encourage you to join the Tourism Week conversation online by using the hashtags #TourismWeek and #TourismMatters.
