Nova Scotia Sees Strong Visitation During Peak May – October Season

According to statistics gathered by Tourism Nova Scotia, Nova Scotia welcomed 1.5 million visitors during the peak May through October 2023 period, a 4% increase (62,000 more visitors) compared with 2022. Visitation remained below 2019 levels, a decrease of 5% (84,000 fewer visitors).

While accommodation sales are up year-to-date compared with 2022, during the May to October period, accommodations operators reported 1,922,000 room nights sold, a decrease of 2% (49,000 fewer room nights sold) compared with 2022 and an increase of 3% (60,000 more room nights sold) compared with 2019.
