October 2021 Tourism Performance

Tourism continued to rebound in October. 

According to statistics gathered by Tourism Nova Scotia, the province welcomed 116,000 non-resident visitors in October 2021, an increase of 70% (or 48,000 more visitors) compared with October 2020, and a decline of 40% (or 78,000 fewer visitors) compared with October 2019.

Accommodations operators report 217,000 room nights sold in October 2021, a 60% increase over October 2020 (up 82,000 room nights sold) and a decline of 17% from October 2019 (down 44,000 room nights sold).
