The Tour Operator Partnership Program (TOPP) is a 50/50 co-investment marketing initiative that helps inbound tour operators reach more travellers and strengthens Nova Scotia’s presence in key markets.
In addition to funding support, partners gain access to valuable market research, product development guidance, planning resources, and support to help execute marketing activities and maximize results.
Last year, tour operator joint marketing activity included 18 partnerships supporting the sales of packaged holidays across all key markets. Research shows visitors from the United Kingdom and Germany often book their Nova Scotia vacations through tour operators. Promoting vacation packages in partnership with key tour operators helps raise awareness of the province and supports sales for local businesses.
Who can participate?
This program targets tour operators based in Nova Scotia, nationally or internationally who have a demonstrated ability to sell Nova Scotia packaged vacations in markets that have the highest potential for travel to Nova Scotia. Tour operators must offer a purchasable compelling multi-day Nova Scotia packaged product, have been in operation for at least one year with a focus on marketing and managing the sale of the packaged tourism product to fully independent travellers and/or groups, and can demonstrate engagement in established sales and marketing channels, including having a strong website and social media channels.
