The sessions are being organized by the Municipality of the County of Victoria, in partnership with the Department of Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage (CCTH) staff in Cape Breton. Erin Hume, Experience Development Advisor for Tourism Nova Scotia, will be sharing a ten minute overview of programs, resources, and opportunities for businesses. Our CCTH colleagues, Mike MacSween, (Events Nova Scotia), Larry Maxwell, (Communities, Sport and Recreation), Frances MacEachern, (Community Support and Infrastructure) and Chantal Reid-Demeter, (African Nova Scotian Affairs) will also provide their program overviews and share resources as well.
There are two sessions:
Nov. 12 from 6:30-8:30pm at Theatre Baddeck (98 Twining Street, Baddeck)
Nov. 13 from 4:00-6:00pm at Cabot Education Centre (32039 Cabot Trail, Neils Harbour)
The sessions aim to answer the following questions:
- What programs exist?
- What are the deadlines?
- Would our organization’s project be eligible for funding?
- What is the best route to take?
These sessions will also:
- Provide an overview of funding programs and eligibility requirements
- Help organizations align their goals with the right funding opportunities, from facility upgrades to community events
- Share practical tips and best practices for grant writing
