Tourism activities by Nova Scotians travelling within the province account for 44% of the province’s tourism revenues.

This indicator estimates the number of same-day and overnight trips made within the province by Nova Scotians, sourced from the Statistics Canada National Travel Survey.

Nova Scotians' Trips within Nova Scotia

In 2025, Nova Scotians made 7.4 million same-day trips within Nova Scotia, up 5% (364,000 more trips) compared with 2024.

In 2025, Nova Scotians made 2.3 million overnight trips within Nova Scotia, down 1% (25,000 fewer trips) compared with 2024.
