Travel Trade FAM Tours

One of our greatest sales opportunities is inviting travel agents, reservation agents, tour operators, wholesalers, and group leaders to experience Nova Scotia for themselves. Product familiarization (FAM) tours are your chance to build knowledge and enthusiasm about your business among travel professionals who develop and sell Nova Scotia vacations for travellers in North America and overseas.

What is a FAM tour?

Tourism Nova Scotia hosts groups of travel professionals (such as tour operators, travel agents, and reservation agents) on four to seven day trips throughout Nova Scotia to provide training and first-hand experience of the many incredible places to go and things to do in the province. The objective is to encourage the development of more Nova Scotia itineraries for travellers in our target markets, and to equip our partners with the information they need to effectively sell Nova Scotia vacations. We partner with tourism operators to roll out the welcome mat and showcase what they offer visitors.

Requirements for FAM Tour Partners

To be considered for participation in FAM tours, businesses must be equipped to work with the travel trade (ie: having the policies and business operations in place to sell to wholesalers, tour operators and travel agents). You can learn more about working with the travel trade through the Atlantic Travel Trade Readiness Program.

If you would like to be considered for participation in FAM tours hosted by Tourism Nova Scotia, please complete the application form and return it to Natalie Shaw
