2023 – 24 ACAT Collaborative Project Topline Results

Thursday, December 19, 2024

The Atlantic Canada Agreement on Tourism (ACAT) is a highly successful tourism marketing initiative that brings together the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, the provincial departments responsible for tourism in New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island, and the four provincial Tourism Industry Associations in Atlantic Canada.

The collective approach combines resources to co-invest in market research and to effective marketing tactics to promote travel in the region, mainly through travel trade, media relations and airline partnership activities in common markets. ACAT’s collaborative focus is on the United States, United Kingdom and Germany markets to promote the four provinces as a leading vacation destination and grow tourism for the region.

Planning for the 2025 marketing plan is well underway and interim results of the 2024 initiatives in the United States, United Kingdom and Germany are being collected from our various partners. The ACAT Collaborative Project focuses on specific channels within these key markets to achieve efficiencies and create significant opportunities for regional tourism synergies. In many instances, the Project further leverages programs with Destination Canada and other strategic partners. These channels are media relations, travel trade, consortia and airline partnerships.
