Ads Encourage Nova Scotians to Show Their Local Love this Summer

Tuesday, May 31, 2022

Nova Scotians already know how special our province is. Now a new ad campaign aims to help them put that knowledge into action to have their best summer ever here in Nova Scotia while supporting local businesses.

Tourism Nova Scotia launched the summer version of the Show Your Local Love campaign on May 29 to build on Nova Scotians’ pride and enthusiasm for the exciting things to see and do in the province. The campaign includes TV ads, YouTube video ads, digital audio ads, digital display ads, and social media ads directing people to a landing page on NovaScotia.com to plan their trips. Various campaign elements feature more than 100 visuals from Yarmouth to Cape Breton Island to highlight the wide range of experiences available in every region of the province.

The Calling All Doers summer campaign already launched earlier this year in key national and international markets. We know travellers from farther away start planning their trips earlier in the year and we wanted Nova Scotia to be top of mind. Now it’s time to get Nova Scotians thinking about their staycation plans.

Research we conducted in February showed we needed a different approach in Nova Scotia where there is already a higher awareness of what makes the province special and a different kind of travel segment that prefers safe, easy to plan trips. Show Your Local Love puts that research into action and will run until the end of August.
