Coastal Navigator Service - A Resource for Shoreline Property Owners

Monday, September 15, 2025

Nova Scotia is famous for our incredible coastal experiences, including our seaside accommodations, restaurants, and attractions. Nova Scotia's 13,000-kilometre coastline is vulnerable to climate change, which increases risks of erosion, flooding, storm surges and rising sea levels. Property owners and communities along our coasts must take the extra steps to prepare and stay safe from these risks. Resources are available to help you make informed business decisions about your coastal property.

Coastal Navigators Service

As part of the Province's Coastal Protection Action Plan, the government has launched the Coastal Navigators Service to provide landowners with accessible, expert support for understanding how make decisions and adapt to evolving coastal hazards. This free, confidential service connects businesses with personalized, one-on-one support to help understand the risks and opportunities for your coastal property. Businesses and landowners can request tailored Coastal Hazard Assessment Reports to analyze any specific risks to their property.

To connect with your local Coastal Navigator email coastalnavigator@novascotia.ca or call 1-888-570-4240.
