With restaurants required to restrict service to take-out and delivery and fewer people dining out, organizations are getting creative to help support restaurants in the Halifax region impacted by COVID-19.
Various partners, including the Restaurant Association of Nova Scotia and Discover Halifax, have launched Dine & Stay Home, a coordinated social media and online effort that invites people who are able to do so to support their favourite eateries in a safe manner, while practicing social distancing.
There are many restaurants offering delivery and take-out at this time, and the province has temporarily allowed alcohol to be included with these services. Associations that have compiled a list of restaurants offering delivery and/or pick up options, and restaurants that are offering these services can share a common Dine & Stay Home graphic on their website and social media channels. The program also offers suggestions to consumers on how they can support local restaurants, even if they can’t order pick-up and delivery.

The goal of the program is to also include breweries and farmer’s markets that are offering social distancing pick-up and delivery options. To find out how your restaurant or business can take part, contact Kasey Connely at Discover Halifax: kconnely@discoverhalifaxns.com.
Discover Halifax has followed up on the success of this campaign with See & Stay Home, a campaign featuring Halifax experiences people can enjoy from home.
We know this is a very difficult time for many businesses in the tourism and hospitality industry. It is great to see businesses offering innovative services and organizations coming together to offer solutions to the challenges we are facing during this pandemic.
