January – March 2022 Tourism Performance

Tourism activity continued to rebound in the first three months of 2022.

According to statistics gathered by Tourism Nova Scotia, the province welcomed 144,000 visitors between January and March 2022, up 198% or 96,000 visitors compared with the same months in 2021. Visitation for the period was down 56% or 186,000 visitors compared to pre-pandemic 2019.

Accommodations operators report 369,000 room nights sold between January and March, a 45% increase over the same three months in 2021 (up 115,000 room nights sold) and a decline of 11% from the same period in 2019 (down 45,000 room nights sold).
