In response to new restrictions introduced last week and public health guidance discouraging non-essential travel within Nova Scotia and Atlantic Canada, Tourism Nova Scotia is pausing marketing activities, including our planned winter advertising campaign.
We continue to work with partners in our programs to develop packages and content, and plan to advance marketing activities when we are able to, taking into account public health guidelines.
The pandemic has taught us all the importance of being nimble and flexible as circumstances change. Whether you are operating a business or planning events, it is now even more clear that some of the things we typically do to generate business may simply not be possible. As always, we must continue to weigh the risk versus benefit of investing resources in programming that may or may not happen, and together we must continue to monitor the situation and follow the direction of public health experts.
Please watch our corporate website and inTouch newsletter for marketing and program updates. Tourism Nova Scotia remains committed to helping tourism businesses and stakeholders navigate the COVID-19 operating environment by sharing research and insights, offering skills based training to enhance business competitiveness, and working with you to develop products and experiences that will position our industry well for when conditions improve.
