Meet the Nova Scotia Music Artist Behind our Summer Tourism Ads

Thursday, March 10, 2022

Finding yourself bouncing along to the great tune in our Calling All Doers ads? The music was created by Nova Scotia artist, Famba, specifically for the campaign.

Our 2022 summer tourism campaign, Calling All Doers, is a fun campaign that highlights the wide range of things to do, places to go, and food to eat throughout the province. So, we contracted Famba to create some fun music to help get people in the right mindset for summer vacations by the sea. He was selected to create the soundtrack by the creative team at m5 Marketing Communications, Tourism Nova Scotia’s marketing agency of record, after a review of Nova Scotia artists.

"We knew that the soundtrack to our campaign needed to feel fresh, fun and unmistakably Nova Scotia. That meant finding an artist who could capture the unexpected delight travellers feel when they visit our province," says Damian Bonse, Executive Creative Director at m5 Marketing Communications. "Famba's one-of-a-kind style and sound made him the perfect fit."

Famba, (Ryan Pettipas), is a music artist, producer and DJ from Halifax, Nova Scotia and one of Canada’s fastest-rising electronic artists. According to his Sony Music Artists bio, in 2019, he released two gold sales certified singles, Wish You Well, featuring Trove, and Swear to God. At the start of 2020, his single Storm, featuring Kyra Mastro, claimed the #1 spot on the Mediabase Dance chart and #4 on Billboard Dance Airplay.
