Learn something new - consider going on a Best Practice Mission before your busy season starts. Here are a couple Tourism Best Practice Missions offered this spring by Gros Morne Institute for Sustainable Tourism.

Tourism Best Practice Mission Events and Festivals
Location: Calgary – Banff, Alberta
Dates: April 23 – 28, 2017

The purpose of this mission is to showcase organizations and destinations that demonstrate Best Practices in event and festival development to drive tourism and economic benefits for a community. Destinations visited will have developed numerous events under seasonal themes and demonstrate how they have added to the product mix of the destination, supported destination brand awareness, contributed to lengthening season and act as an economic generator for the destination.

Tourism Best Practice Mission Travel Trade – How to Take Your Business to the World!
Location: Toronto, Niagara, Muskoka, Ontario
Dates: March 19 – 24, 2017

The purpose of this mission is to showcase organizations, tourism operators and destinations that demonstrate Best Practices in working with and developing product for the travel trade. Destinations visited will have developed product that is on point for the travel trade market. Participants will learn from leading edge Canadian tour operators what it takes to work within this realm, and also be exposed to small businesses that have created experiences and products for this market.
