Tourism Nova Scotia Teams up with Social Media Influencers to Highlight Nova Scotia in Lively Twitter Chat

Tourism Nova Scotia and Hecktic Media recently teamed up to host a lively Twitter chat - #AllTravelChat - that drew attention to Nova Scotia’s hidden gems and must-do experiences.

A twitter chat is an open, facilitated discussion on Twitter around a specific hashtag, like #AllTravelChat.  Our chat focused on top attractions, places to eat and favourite off-the-beaten-trail spots to visit in Nova Scotia.

The discussion was led by our social marketing team and Hecktic Media, along with several influencers who have visited Nova Scotia through our travel media program, including @CailinONeil, @ShortPresents, @SeeusSoonTravel, and @Ottsworld. We were happy to find that some of our local partners such as Fortress Rum and Fox Harb’r Resort joined us on the chat. According to Hecktic Media’s analysis, the chat generated more than 500 tweets with 140 participants, reaching an audience of more than 11 million Twitter users.

Hecktic Media participated in our 2017 Influencer Program.  Check out their blog post about their visit to Cape Breton.

If you’re on Twitter, be sure to follow us @VisitNovaScotia. If you would like to engage in future Twitter chats with us, please send us a direct message through Twitter and include your email contact. We will be sure to connect with you before our next chat.

Tourism Nova Scotia also participates in a monthly #CanadaChat with Destination Canada   (@ExploreCanada) and all the other provinces. The next chat is on May 16 and will focus on Cool Canadian Festivals. If you would like to join the conversation, we can send you the questions in advance as soon as they are updated.

We encourage anyone who is on Twitter and has a passion for travel in Nova Scotia to join us on the chats. Together we can elevate the conversation about Nova Scotia!
