Like many other destination marketing organizations around the world, Tourism Nova Scotia (TNS) utilizes in-market representation (IMR) to raise awareness and increase visitation from key markets.
The in-market representatives provide strategic sales and marketing, promotional and consulting services to raise awareness of the province and help attract visitors to Nova Scotia from these key markets. The IMRs also work closely with the Halifax International Airport Authority and in-market airline stakeholders to support the development of new and existing air routes to Nova Scotia.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting travel restrictions, Tourism Nova Scotia is temporarily pausing our in-market representatives (IMR) contracts in Germany and the UK, effective April 1, 2021. This decision is not permanent and will be revisited as travel conditions improve.
Our IMR partners have done excellent work to raise awareness of Nova Scotia in their respective markets, and we look forward to continuing to work with them in the future. In the meantime, TNS staff will continue to support travel trade and travel media activities and assist with any questions from or about the German or UK markets.
