Receptive Tour Operator International Market Recovery

Receptive tour operators (RTOs) support tourism businesses in Nova Scotia through the development and sale of vacation packages in key international markets.

RTOs play an important role in Nova Scotia’s tourism industry and are crucial to the recovery of travel from key international markets. 

Tourism Nova Scotia’s new Receptive Tour Operator International Market Recovery (RTOIMR) program will help Nova Scotia-based RTOs implement marketing and business development activities in international markets as travel recovers.

Partnership funds can be used to support:

  • Business to business development: 
    • Marketplaces and meetings with international tour operators/travel agents
    • Sales missions
    • Destination awareness and product training
    • Familiarization (FAM) tour support
  • Product Development:  
    • Support the development of Nova Scotia tourism businesses to be export ready
    • Development of tools and resources to market and sell Nova Scotia product
  • Marketing activities 
    • Digital marketing (such as social media advertising, search engine marketing, display, and video ads)
    • Paid/sponsored content
    • Direct mail and print advertising

How to Participate

Eligible partners must be in good standing with the Registry of Joint Stocks and have a focus on developing and marketing Nova Scotia tourism product to the international travel trade. Full eligibility criteria is available in the program guidelines.

The deadline to submit applications is Monday, July 26, 2021 at 4pm.
