Tourism Marketing Assistance Program - Accommodations

The Tourism Marketing Assistance Program (TMAP) will help registered tourism accommodations implement marketing activities and build demand in 2022. Accommodations are critically important tourism infrastructure, and they need to be open and able to attract visitors in the upcoming months.  

Eligibility 

To be eligible for this program you must: 

  • meet the definition of a roofed accommodation in the Tourist Accommodations Registration Act  
  • be registered as a host under the Tourist Accommodations Registration Act 
  • be HST registered (If your business is not required to collect/remit GST/HST or opened in 2020, 2021 or 2022, under normal conditions, you must generate at least $30,000 in annual business revenues) 
  • have at least one room available for rent to travellers 
  • be operating in 2022 

Funding Amount 

Eligible operators that have between one (1) and five (5) rooms will receive a one-time grant of $5,000. Operators with six (6) or more rooms will receive a one-time grant of $1,000 per room for their first 10 rooms and $500 per room for each additional room. 

Eligible Activities 

Eligible activities include advertising, package development, promotions, and investment in products or experiences that will enhance the visitor experience and increase overall appeal of the business.
