September a Strong Month for Tourism in Nova Scotia

Tourism Nova Scotia’s latest tourism performance indicators show Nova Scotia experienced exceptional tourism growth this past September.

The province welcomed 21,000 additional non-resident visitors, a nine per cent increase over September 2016.

Nova Scotians and non-resident visitors bought 325,000 licensed room nights in September, a decrease of one per cent over September 2016.

“We’re thrilled with these results,” said Tourism Nova Scotia CEO Michele Saran. “Fall is a beautiful time of year to visit and we look forward to working with tourism operators to create even more experiences that will bring people to the province outside of the summer months.”

Year-to-date September 2017, non-resident overnight visitation to Nova Scotia is up by nine per cent compared with 2016, with visitation by road up eight per cent and air up twelve per cent.
