Tourism Nova Scotia has teamed up with WestJet on a London taxi marketing campaign that showcases Nova Scotia’s world-class visitor experiences on the streets of London.
The campaign includes 14 co-branded taxis that will be on the road for six months, as well as branded seats, receipts, and videos. The brand awareness campaign highlights the many things to see and do in Nova Scotia, such as outdoor adventure, cultural attractions, and outstanding wines and culinary experiences. The goal is to encourage travellers in the UK to consider Nova Scotia for their next vacation, and to raise awareness of WestJet’s direct flights from London to Halifax.
Our in-market representative, Axis Travel Marketing, will assist the campaign during a one-day sales blitz with WestJet airlines. Both partners will visit key travel agents and tour operators in a taxi and encourage travel trade partners to share photos on social media whenever they are riding in one of the branded taxis.
The UK is one of Nova Scotia’s target travel markets, and the largest source of overseas visitors to Nova Scotia. In 2018, more than 31,000 visitors came to Nova Scotia from the UK, an increase of 19% compared to 2017. Increased visitation from the UK is at least in part due to increased air connections. Supporting new and current direct flights is vital to attracting more visitors from overseas, who tend to stay longer and spend more while they are here.
