Seven Nova Scotia tourism operators will participate in Tourism Nova Scotia’s World-class Experience EXCELLerator Program this year. Thank you to everyone who applied!
2018 World-class Experience EXCELLerator Program Participants:
Collaborating with Tourism Nova Scotia, the 2018 participants will each develop a unique and authentic Nova Scotian experience that incorporates elements proven through market research to appeal to travellers, such as coastal adventure and savouring world-class culinary fare.
This year’s program kicked-off on Wednesday, May 16 with a full-day workshop focused on the program’s goals, tools, and target market—the Explorer Quotient’s Free Spirit segment. Our experience development team shared learnings and successes from previous years, and walked partners through experience planning—from concept to market readiness.
Developing new experiences is key to Tourism Nova Scotia’s strategy, and will contribute to reaching our industry’s goal of $4 billion in tourism revenues by 2024.
Program participants were encouraged to invite key partners to join the workshop and start building their experience with a strong foundation of shared knowledge. For example, Lunenburg Walking Tours were joined by Ironworks Distillery.
“The idea of partnering with local tourism operators to co-develop both the experience and marketing assets is just brilliant,” shared Ironworks’ Pierre Guevremont. “Through this program, Tourism Nova Scotia gets to help shape the content according to their consumer market knowledge, and operators get the confidence to invest time and energy in their product knowing Tourism has their backs.”
We are thrilled to welcome this year’s seven successful applicants to the 2018 EXCELLerator Program! We look forward to collaborating with them to develop world-class experiences that differentiate Nova Scotia, appeal to the Free Spirit segment, and create marketing assets to attract new visitors.
Since 2016, EXCELLerator Program partners have brought 22 new experiences to market.
